  • Public, children, pets and traffic kept clear or controlled.

  • Hose route planned to avoid trips across paths, doors and pavements.

  • Pole, clamps, hose, brush and insulated sections checked for damage.

  • Correct pole chosen – work can be done from the ground without overreaching.

  • Suitable footwear / PPE worn and phone available for emergency.
